What is Bamboo flooring?Bamboo itself is a grass which grows to over 60 feet tall in only one and a half years. After harvesting, it is split and flattened, before being laminated under high pressure with an environmentally safe adhesive. The Bamboo flooring planks are then treated with hydrogen peroxide to eliminate any mildew and kiln dried to at least 8-10 percent moisture content.

What is the difference between "horizontal" and "vertical" Bamboo flooring?A Bamboo stalk is hollow and the walls of the plant are fairly thin. Strips of bamboo are therefore laminated together to make our 5/8" Bamboo flooring. The terms "horizontal" and "vertical" refer to the orientation in which the bamboo strips are laminated together to form a finished Bamboo flooring plank. In the horizontal style, the strips are laid flat so the top surface shows the bamboo's nodes, or "knuckles" more prominently. In the vertical style, the Bamboo flooring strips are turned on their sides and laminated together in long, slender rows creating a different appearance.CVI Second Forest Bamboo flooring also known for its nickname in Horizontal style as Vegas winner Mahjongg and verticle style as Great Wall.

What kind of finish does it have?Our Bamboo flooring product is finished in "matte" with seven coats, urethane with aluminum oxide ceramics which makes it abrasion and spill resistant. We guarantee our finish with a "twenty-five (25) year Warranty."

Radiant Heated Floors:Our flooring is completely compatible over Radiant Heated floors as long as the temperature cannot exceed 85 °F, or as long as the radiant heat system cannot fluctuate in temperature rapidly.

Can it be glued down or nailed down?Our bamboo flooring can be glued, flouted or nailed.

What colors are available?Bamboo flooring has two colors, natural and coffee. Coffee colour is the carbonated fiber color after high temperature and high-pressure treatment. It is not a painted-on color so it will never fade away. This expands the variety beyond the normal natural color to meet varyong demand.
