The innovative procedures and operations of Second Forest ª play an important role in boosting local economies and reducing the impacts of traditional resource use. Take the city of Yibin in Southwest China's Sichuan Province for example. The bamboo industry has become a new growth point for its economy as well as an innovative way to increase farmer's income. Last year, the bamboo industry created jobs for more than 100,000 surplus rural workers. Our goal is a world where the ecological footprint of the construction industry is significantly reduced and our children can look towards a sustainable future.We acknowledge that humans have certain needs, but that their are limitations to what the ecosystem can satisfy.
